Litha Berger,
A Founding Force for Conservative Values in Collier County

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Litha Berger, a devoted wife, mother, patriot, and the original driving force behind what is now known as The Right Club of South Collier County.

Litha’s passion for local politics and her unwavering commitment to Republican conservative principles inspired her to co-found the Caxambas Club in 2009, alongside fellow visionaries Joe Granda and John Arceri. With a charter from the Republican Party of Florida through the Collier County Republican Executive Committee (CCREC), the club quickly became a cornerstone of conservative engagement on Marco Island.

Litha served on the board from its founding in 2009 until 2025 — an incredible 16 years of dedicated leadership. She was instrumental in guiding the organization through two pivotal evolutions: first, its transition to the Republican Club of South Collier County (RCSCC), and most recently, the rebranding in 2024 to The Right Club of South Collier County. Under her watchful care, the club expanded its reach to welcome not only registered Republicans, but also independents (NPAs) who uphold conservative, right-of-center values — always with a focus on the unique needs and voices of Collier County District 1.

Litha will be remembered for her boundless enthusiasm, her steady voice on the board, and her heartfelt commitment to preserving and promoting conservative principles. She was not just a founding member — she was the club’s soul.

A resident of Marco Island since 1990, Litha passed away last week after suffering a stroke. She was surrounded by her beloved husband Jim Lane and their daughters. Her impact on this community — and on the future of conservative leadership in Southwest Florida — will not be forgotten.

May she rest in peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire those who stand for freedom, integrity, and service.
